Short description

Pentachlorphenol (PCP) and γ-hexacholocyclohexane (lindane) get indoor i.a. by the application of wood protection agent. Lindane is used as insecticidal in household and agriculture. It can be found in textiles and carpets, for example. PCP was used as fungizid in wallpapers, adhesive, colors, textiles, carbets and leatherware. According to the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance of 1993, the production, trade and use of mixtures containing more than 0,01% PCP or PCP-conjunctions is not allowed. Products which contains more than 5 mg/kg PCP due to treatment with these mixtures shall be not put into circulation since the 26th March 1990. Due to old stocks, PCP still gets into the indoor air.
