Short description
This standard applies to those rail-mounted and stationary cranes, including their supporting structures and equipment, which are subject to DGUV Regulation 52 (formerly BGV D6) and DGUV Regulation 54 (formerly BGV D8). In line with DIN 15001-1 this standard relates to travelling hoists, cantilever and slewing cranes, overhead (bridge) cranes, gantry cranes, wall-mounted cranes and rotating tower cranes. The standard provides operators of crane systems and also service providers in the crane servicing sector with competent support in making estimates of the cost and scope of changes to the relevant equipment and/or measures. In particular, attention is drawn to the interrelated technical and legal contexts involved. The operational safety and plant availability are considered as well as changes in the production process which are becoming operationally necessary, up to and including the relocation of production and the associated transfer of plant.
