Short description
The standard defines the specification of module interfaces for use in modular systems and describes them syntactically, semantically and pragmatically using OPC UA as an example and with modelling rules for creating the manifest and the communication descriptions it contains. For this purpose, communication profiles are defined that represent the functionality of PEAs in a standardised way. The communication interfaces and the automatic communication structure between PEA (module) and POL (process control system) are described in a formalised manner. The standard is intended for operators and manufacturers of process automation systems.
