The responsible Committee is K 227 "Instandhaltung von elektrischen Betriebsmitteln der Elektrizitätsversorgungsnetze" ("Maintenance of electrical equipment of electricity supply networks") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE. This standard describes possibilities for the maintenance of equipment and installations of electrical supply networks as well as general applicable procedures. It applies to operators of electrical supply networks, especially public networks; excluded are for the time being: - high voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmissions; - traction systems; - equipment for the end-users; - installations for the generation of electrical energy. The present DIN V VDE V 0109-2 (VDE V 0109-2) is only valid in connection with DIN V VDE V 0109-1 (VDE V 0109-1).
