This document applies to primarily storey-high prefabricated masonry compound units which are as wide as the room (this also includes balustrades and gable slopes) and buildings made thereof. It contains constructive comments and information for provision of verification of stability for the individual prefabricated masonry compound units, also taking under consideration transport and assembly, and for the structure. The rules of DIN EN 1996 and the associated national annexes generally apply for the design of unreinforced masonry made of wall panels. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-06-33 AA "Mauerwerk; Bauten aus Fertigbauteilen" ("Masonry; prefabricated units for structures") at DIN.
