Overview

The small pumping appliance KLF is a fire fighting vehicle with at least one portable pump PFPN 10-1000 in accordance with DIN EN 14466, an installation for quick delivery of water, a fire water reservoir with a useable water quantity of at least 500 l and fire fighting equipment for one group (1/8). The crew consists of a fire fighting squad (1/5). The vehicle mainly serves for the fighting of fires and forms an independent tactical unit with the crew completing the group. The maximum permissible length is 6 000 mm, the maximum permissible width is 2 300 mm and the maximum permissible height is 2 600 mm. The permissible total mass of the KLF is limited to 4 750 kg. A commercially available cargo van or a commercially available chassis with a crew cab is used for the vehicle and 2-wheel drive (2x4) shall be primarily selected for the type of drive. For reasons of driving safety the maximum speed of the KLF is 100 km/h. The revision of DIN 14530-24:2004-11 became necessary in order to adapt the technical content to the modified circumstances surrounding driving licences. For this purpose, the following modifications were included: a) term small pumping appliance KLF revised; b) permissible total mass increased to 4 750 kg; c) maximum speed limited to 100 km/h; d) content of the water tank for fire fighting increased to at least 500 l; e) portable pump modified and for this purpose PFPN 10-1000 included and the requirements expanded; f) the multi-purpose nozzle pipe replaced by the combination branchpipe for the installation for quick water delivery; g) fire fighting equipment in Table 1 completely revised, hoses and valves adapted to the TSF-W and auxiliary equipment adapted to the TSF; h) all normative references adapted and for this purpose E DIN 14011-7, E DIN 14011-9, DIN 14365-1, DIN 14367, E DIN 14502-2:2004-04, DIN 14811-1, E DIN 70020-2, DIN EN 1846-2:2002-03 and E DIN EN 14466 deleted and DIN 14011, E DIN 14502-2, DIN 14811, DIN 74051-1, DIN V 74051-10, DIN 74058, DIN EN 1846-2:2010-01, DIN EN 14466, DIN EN 15182-2 incorporated instead; i) standard content, including bibliography, editorially revised. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-06 AA "Allgemeine Anforderungen an Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Löschfahrzeuge - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 3" ("General requirements for fire fighting and rescue service vehicles - Fire fighting vehicles - Mirror committee for CEN/TC 192/WG 3") at DIN.
