Overview

This standard applies to pipes centrifugally cast glass fiber reinforced plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resins (UP resins) which are intended for use with or without pressure for tensile strength and non-tensile versions. Pipes according to this standard are characterized by the manufacturing method. With respect to DIN 16869-1:1995-12, the following modifications have been made: scope supplemented, material requirements and wall constructions deleted as well as nominal stiffnesses, nominal pressures, diameter ranges and dimensions have been adapted from DIN EN 1796. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 054-05-09 AA "Rohre und Rohrleitungsteile aus Reaktionsharzformstoffen" ("Plastics pipes of thermosetting materials") of the Standards Committee Plastics (FNK).
