This standard applies to double loop link chains for hoisting clothes in pithead baths. These clothes hoists are intended to store personal clothing, work wear and also items of personal safety and protective equipment safely and in a space saving manner. Different and partially high load requirements, daily use, difficult maintenance conditions and problematic operating environment, and a high injury potential in the event of failure, impose high requirements for operational safety of the comparatively simple hoisting system. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 008-07-01 AA "Persönliche Sicherheits- und Schutzausrüstungen" ("Personal safety and protective equipment") of FABERG.
This document replaces DIN 20182:1989-04 .
