Overview

This standard specifies requirements for detectable routing tapes for the installation of metal-free cables and pipelines in the ground.
It applies to actively and passively detectable plastic tapes with two or more continuous metal conductors. These tapes can be detected using commercially available locating devices and thus warn of the presence of buried cables or pipelines. It is possible to determine from one end whether the metal conductors are intact along their entire length.
This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 054-05-10 AA "Warneinrichtungen aus Kunststoff für erdverlegte Kabel und Rohrleitungen" ("Plastic warning devices for underground cables and pipelines") at DIN Standards Committee Plastics (FNK).
