Rim-locks according to this standard are suitable for heavy-hinged doors for ships according to DIN 83101 and DIN 83102. Due to the fact that all single components of the locks are still covered and their designs are still standardized in the previous standard, the committee decided to only specify the connecting dimensions, materials and designs of the locks.
