DIN EN 3155-066:2014-04

The standards of the series EN 3155 describe electrical contacts used in aerospace connecting elements. The new edition of Part 066 specifies the required characteristics, tests and tooling applicable to female electrical contacts, type A, crimp, class S, size 8, used in elements of connection according to EN 3155-002. It shall be used together with EN 3155-001. The associated male contacts are defined in EN 3155-065. Compared with the previous edition of DIN EN 3155-066:2007-10, the following modifications have been made: a) in Table 1, the diameter values for A and B have been modified; b) in 4.3, a table for the marking by colour code has been added, the designation of all subsequent tables changed accordingly; c) in the present Tables 3 and 4, the ASD code for the cable size has been changed for size 08/08; d) in the present Table 4 regarding the selector settings of the crimping tools, the numbers of the crimping insert and partially of the die sets have been subjected to the approval of the authorized quality assurance representative; e) for the tests in 4.8, the temperature for the test according to EN 2591-403 and the tensile strength values for the test according to EN 2591-417 have been modified; f) regarding the designation in Clause 5, letter B has been adopted for the delivery code to differentiate between deliveries made according to EN 4530-004S (A) and EN 4530-004L (B), respectively ; g) now, marking in accordance with Clause 6 shall be carried out according to EN 3155-001. The standards of the EN 3155 series are prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") at the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
