Overview

Standard DIN EN 4492 describes the requirements relating to anaerobic polymerisable threadlocking compounds having a torque strength of 19 Nm for aerospace applications. Standard DIN 4492 is intended to become part of a series of EN non-metallic materials standards for aerospace applications. The general organisation of this series is described in EN 4385. This standard is intended to become a level 3 document as defined in EN 4385. It has been prepared in accordance with TR 7000-7. The underlying document DIN EN 4492:2013 has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Metallic Materials, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-02-02 AA "Klebstoffe/Kernwerkstoffe" ("Adhesives, core materials") at the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
