DIN EN 4701-002:2013-08

The standard series EN 4701 describes different optical rectangular modular connectors for aerospace onboard applications at an operating temperature of 125 °C. This family of optical connectors is derived from EN 4165-001 and is intended for interchangeable optical modules and contacts according to EN 4531. They provide easy access for optical contact end face cleaning. Part 002 specifies the material used in the manufacturing of EN 4701 optical modules. The standards of the EN 4701 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-10 AA "LWL und LWL-Komponenten" ("LWL and LWL-components") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
