DIN EN 60728-11:2011-06

The standards of the DIN EN 60728 (VDE 0855) standard series deal with cable networks including equipment and associated methods of measurement for headed reception, processing and distribution of television signals, sound signals and their associated data signals and for processing, interfacing and transmitting all kinds of signals for interactive services using all applicable transmission media. This part deals with the safety requirements applicable to fixed sited systems and equipment. As far as applicable, this standard is also valid for mobile and temporarily installed systems, for example, in caravans. This standard deals specifically with the safety of the system, personnel working on it, subscribers and subscriber equipment. The following amendments have been made with respect to DIN EN 60728-11 (VDE 0855-1):2005-10, amongst others: The list "Deviations in other countries" has been moved from the foreword to informative Annex D. - A few new terms and definitions have been added. - All illustrations have been revised. Details on equipotential bonding and earthing have been supplemented. The figures in the text were moved from the previous annex to the associated location. - Clause 11 "Protection against atmospheric overvoltages and prevention of potential differences" has been completely revised and restructured. Thereby, measures and requirements of the EN 62305 standard series "Protection against lightning" have been taken into account. - A new informative Annex A on "Earth-loop impedance" has been added. - A new Annex C on "Examples for calculation of lightning risk" has been added. - Former Annex B on "Particular requirements for the use of IT power networks" has been revised and incorporated as "Deviation in Norway" in Annex D. The responsible Committee is K 735 "Kabelnetze und Antennen für Fernsehsignale, Tonsignale und interaktive Dienste" ("Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
