Overview

This European Standard applies to pipe threading tools that create external threads by rotating either the workpiece or the cutting head. The external thread is created through a mechanical process such as cutting or forming. Threading machines according to this standard meet the requirements of EC Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive). The responsible committee is K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
