Overview

The purpose of this part of IEC 61300 is to provide a standard for the measurement of guide pin bore diameters in thermoplastic and thermoset MT ferrules specified in IEC 61754-5. Multi-fibre connectors are an important part of modern cabling in data centres. The standard is directed at manufacturers and test institutes and is part of quality inspection of multi-fibre connectors. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
