Overview

This standard specifies requirements and test methods for indirect ophthalmoscopes for examination of the interior of the human eye. The document is primarily directed at manufacturers of such indirect ophthalmoscopes. The standard DIN EN ISO 10943 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-08 AA "Augenoptik" ("Ophthalmic optics"), Working Group "Ophthalmische Instrumente" ("Ophthalmic instruments") at NAFuO. With respect to edition DIN EN ISO 19343:2006-08, the requirement has been supplemented to use the condensing lens intended to be used with the instrument by the manufacturer when testing for hazards to the eyes by optical radiation. Moreover, only editorial modifications have been made.
