DIN EN ISO 12311:2014-04

This International Standard describes reference test methods for determining the properties of sunglasses given in ISO 12312. It is applicable to all sunglasses and related eyewear. The specified test methods comprise the assessment of the construction and materials as well as spectrophotometric, optical and mechanical properties. The Annexes contain additional specifications and information. This standard is closely connected to standard projects DIN EN ISO 4007 "Personal protective equipment - Eye and face protection - Vocabulary" and ISO 12312, "Eye and face protection - Sunglasses and related eyewear". This standard has been/is prepared together with the two aforementioned documents by CEN/TC 85 in collaboration with ISO/TC 94/SC 6 with the aim to supersede at a later time the currently valid European Standards on sunglasses and related eyewear, amongst them the harmonized European Standard EN 1836. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 027-01-01 AA "Augenschutz" ("Eye protection") at NAFuO.
