This part of ISO 17234 specifies a method for determining the use of certain azo colourants which may release certain aromatic amines. This document (EN ISO 17234-1:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 289 "Leather", the secretariat of which is held by UNI, in collaboration with Technical Committee "International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS)". The responsible German committee is NA 062-05-52 AA "Chemische Prüfverfahren für Leder" ("Chemical test methods of leather") at the DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
