DIN EN ISO 18064:2015-03

This terminology standard for thermoplastic elastomers establishes a nomenclature system based on the chemical composition of the polymer or polymers involved. It defines symbols and abbreviated terms used to identify thermoplastic elastomers in industry, commerce, and government. It is not intended to conflict with, but to supplement, existing trade names and trademarks. The name of the thermoplastic elastomer should be used in technical papers and presentations followed by the abbreviated term used to designate the elastomer in this International Standard. Annex A of this standard gives thermoplastic-elastomer abbreviated terms that have been used in the past in materials standards, technical bulletins, textbooks, patents, and trade literature. The text of ISO 18064:2014 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products" of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and adopted as EN ISO 8030:2014 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics". The responsible national standards committee is NA 045-02-14-01 AK "Prüfungen Elastomer-Rohstoffe und -Produkte" ("Testings of general rubber products and raw materials") in DIN Standards Committee Elastomer Technology (NET). The collaboration of DIN for the field of responsibility of CEN/TC 249 "Plastics" is performed through DIN Standards Committee Plastics (FNK).
