DIN EN ISO 20643:2012-10

This standard is a type-B standard and specifies the essential requirements for vibration emission values measured at the contact surface between the hand and hand-held power tools (for example, chipping hammers, chain saws) as well as hand-guided powered machines (for example, lawn mowers, single-axle tractors), independent of their working modes (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, internal combustion engine). This standard is intended to assist technical standardization committees responsible for specific types of machinery in preparing vibration test codes (so-called type-C standards). The underlying International Standard ISO 20643:2005 and Amendment A1:2012 have been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 118 "Compressors and pneumatic tools, machines and equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 231 "Mechanical vibration and shock", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. The responsible German committee is Committee NA 001-03-07-02 (NALS/VDI C 7.2) "Hand-Arm-Schwingungen" ("Hand-arm vibration") at the Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering Standards Committee (NALS) at DIN and VDI.
