The standard specifies requirements and test methods for pressure regulators in manifold systems used for compressed gases up to 300 bar, dissolved acetylene, liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), methylacetylene-propadiene-mixtures (MPS) and carbon dioxide (CO2). It is not applicable to pressure regulators fitted directly to the gas cylinders, as defined in ISO 2503. In contrast to the previous standard DIN EN ISO 7291:2001-11, the title and content of the International Standard have been adopted, Table 1 and Table 5 have been revised and supplemented and the acetylene decomposition test has been added to the normative part of the standard. The International Standard ISO 7291:2010 has been prepared by ISO/TC 44/SC 8 "Equipment for gas welding, cutting and allied processes" and has been adopted identically as a European Standard. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 092-00-07 AA "Ausrüstung zum Gasschweißen, Schneiden und verwandte Prozesse" ("Equipment for gas welding, cutting and allied processes") of NAS.
