DIN ISO 11745:2011-01

This standard applies to qualification tests of brazers engaged in manual brazing of parts and brazing operators in aerospace construction. It is an essential precondition for the qualification for brazing in new production and repair work in aerospace. The application of this standard will ensure that the test is carried out in accordance with a standard test specification on standard test pieces under standard conditions. A brazer/brazing operator qualification test properly passed in accordance with the terms of this standard ensures that the brazer/brazing operator concerned has proved that he possesses at least the minimum degree of manual skills and technical knowledge demanded by the state of the art. DIN 65228:2005-12 was the fundamental basis for the preparation of this standard. With respect to the previous edition, the Scope of the standard was extended by brazing operators, the test pieces to be used have been revised, extended requirements for the vision have been added and the specifications with regard to the tests to be carried out have been changed, amongst other things. The German standard is the translation of the International Standard ISO 11745:2010 which has been prepared at the NAS, Working Group ISO/TC 44/WG 4 "Welding and brazing in aerospace", with the collaboration of German experts of Working Committee NA 092-00-17 AA "Schweißen im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau (DVS AG A 9)" ("Welding in aerospace (DVS AG A 9)").
