DIN ISO 14490 Beiblatt 1:2016-06

This supplement extends the DIN ISO 14490 series of standards "Optics and optical instruments - Test methods for telescopic systems" and contains a proposal for the design of the test scope for binoculars and telescopic sights, which already ensures a quite meaningful, practically relevant description of the test items. By specifying a shortened scope of testing, a basic statement about the performance, quality and thus classification of a telescopic system is to be made possible. The scope has been chosen in such a way that the required measurements can be carried out with a relatively low expenditure of time. Furthermore, the reproduction of selected sample test protocols is intended to provide suggestions for the design of summary overviews of the measurement results determined in accordance with the test specifications in DIN ISO 14490. DIN ISO 14490-6 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-10 AA "Fernrohre und Vergrößerungsgläser" ("Telescopic systems") at DIN Standards Committee Optics and Precision Mechanics (NAFuO).
