he supplement contains guidance to users and manufacturers of low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies in accordance with IEC 61439. The standard series IEC 61439 on low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies gives system and application details which have to be specified by the user to enable the manufacturer to produce an assembly that will meet the user's needs and expectations. This guidance indicates, from the user's viewpoint, the functions and characteristics which should be defined in the specification of assemblies. This includes: - an explanation of the properties and options for assemblies complying with the IEC 61439 standard series; - guidance for the selection of the appropriate option and the specification of characteristics using a functional approach in order to meet the special application requirements; and - support in the specification of switchgear and controlgear assemblies. Within this guidance, reference to characteristic properties of the interfaces of an assembly and to the requirements that have to be met is made under the assumption that the switchgear and controlgear assembly has been designed, manufactured and verified according to the relevant part of IEC 61439. This corrigendum of the German translation includes the change. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 431.1 "Niederspannungs-Schaltgerätekombinationen" ("Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
