The present guideline VDI 4253 Part 3 defines requirements for the culture based quantitative determination of bacteria in suspensions, e. g. subsequent to sampling according to VDI 4252 Part 3 (application range for sample concentrations ≤ 1 CFU/ml). The guideline defines general principles of this method.
