Short description
This standard describes the assessment of the diversity of wild bees and the changes in their population densities and species composition in accordance with the standard VDI 4332 Part 1. The main focus of the standard is on the population-friendly assessment of wild bees in the field by avoiding destructive sampling. The standard enables qualified statements about changes in wild bee populations and thus the standard indirectly helps to assess the effect of measures to support wild bees, such as the establishment of wild bee pastures and nesting opportunities. Moreover, the standard enables statements on invasive wild bee species from southern Europe and lays the foundations for an analysis of endangered wild bee species in order to update the Red List of Invertebrates. The standardised recording of wild bees will be documented using a suitable database structure and will be made available for statistical analyses. The standard is developed as part of the BienABest joint project.
