Short description
For the transport of large and/or heavy loads often multiple cranes/trolleys are used in tandem operation. For this purpose, individual crane operators work together with a supervisor. The recent technological development of crane control and communication systems also enables the radio controlled coupling of several crane controls so that cranes can be operated from a distant control panel. This results to special hazards and corresponding demands on the control which are described in this standard. The combined cranes in tandem operation should be regarded as one single machine. The described requirements should also be considered when retrofitting cranes.
