Short description
This standard deals with the prognosis of stresses and strains on people through their working environment. It focuses on those calculation methods and software procedures that can be used in connection with tools of the digital factory while planning or improving factory buildings. It thus complements the standard VDI 4499 Part 4, the content of which are analogously the effects of the work task on the working person. The standard is based on the basic physical characteristics of an indoor work area from an ergonomic point of view. The environmental influences considered to be significant are classified into the sections work space, ambient air and mechanical and electromagnetic vibrations and waves. In addition to the options for evaluating environmental influences, the methods for assessing them in terms of occupational health and safety are discussed.
