This standard contains practical acceptance and monitoring procedures for the assessment of measuring systems based on image correlation techniques with regard to their accuracy. It defines technical parameters for DIC measuring systems and describes procedures and test pieces for determining these parameters. The standard applies to measuring systems based on DIC techniques which are used for the area-based determination of the two- or three-dimensional displacement of surfaces as well as the area-based determination of the strain of surfaces.
