Short description
This standard is a guideline for the assessment of indoor air quality and represents an extension of the system boundary of VDI 6022 Part 1 to the occupied zone in accordance with DIN EN 16798 Part 1. VDI 6022 Part 1 serves to ensure a supply air quality conducive to health, which is only one of the prerequisites for the desired indoor air quality. This Part 3 of the series of standards VDI 6022 strives for indoor air quality that is conducive to health. This addresses all persons who are responsible for indoor air quality in planning, execution and operation, e. g. building owners, operators, architects, civil engineers, building services planners, craftsmen and users. Indoor air quality conducive to health in the sense of this standard is given when no health impairment is to be expected from the indoor air and the indoor climate for the user, it is perceived by the majority as pleasant and comfortable and there are no obvious disturbing odour perceptions. This means that all physical, chemical and biological measured variables lie within a range named here. An evaluation procedure is introduced for the categorisation of indoor air classes from above-mentioned sets of rules according to the state of the art, which assigns existing limit or standard values. Due to the complexity of the different substance loads and influencing factors, an assessment of any existing hazard should be carried out on an event-related basis. The application of the standard is intended to give the building operator certainty about the type and category of indoor air quality and thus help him with regard to his responsibility towards the room users. It serves as a contractual agreement on the indoor air quality to be achieved vis-à-vis e. g. planners or building contractors and as an evaluation aid to prove that the target has been achieved.
