Short description
Noises from technical heating systems can result in substantial annoyance in rooms requiring protection (common rooms) and in the vicinity thereof. For this reason, noise reduction measures are required. This guideline presents values of the noise emission in the room where the heat source is installed, in the exhaust duct and at the chimney outlet. It includes suggested measures for noise control in the construction as well as noise-control measures to be considered in the planning and realisation of heating systems. This guideline is intended primarily for designers, component manufacturers, system builders, installation companies, owners and operators.
Overview

Noise from heating systems can result in substantial annoyance in rooms requiring protection or in the neighbourhood. That is why this guideline recommends measures for reduction of the transmission of noise. This guideline deals with the description of the noise emission in the installation room of the heat generator, in the exhaust gas pipe and at the exhaust pipe outlet. It contains recommendations for constructional noise control and measures for noise reduction to be complied with at the design and construction stage of heating systems. The directive is directed at designers, component manufacturers, system builders, installation companies, owners and operators.
