Overview

This standard specifies a headform impact test for testing the behaviour of safety glass (single-layer safety glass, laminated safety glass, plastic and glass-plastic composites) for vehicle glazing under impact from a blunt, bulky body. A 5 kg or 10 kg head-form with accelerometer serve as the head-form weight. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-03-61 AA "Prüfung von Sicherheitsscheiben für Fahrzeugverglasung" ("Testing of safety glass constructions used in vehicle glazing") of NMP, in collaboration with the Road Vehicle Engineering Standards Committee (NA Automobil) and the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK). It is released in agreement with the German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development.
