This standard is a product standard and describes the type LSH connector family. It contains the initial, start of life dimensional, optical, mechanical and environmental performance requirements which a preassembled and mated single mode connector set, type LSH-APC 8° simplex with resilient alignment sleeve (plug/coupling/plug), a coupling and a patch cable shall meet to be classified as an EN standard product. The standards of the 50377 series refer to the standards of the series IEC 61754 (Fibre optic connector interfaces), IEC 61755 (Optical interface) and IEC 61300 (Basic test and measurement procedures). The standard provides manufacturers and test laboratories with safety regarding the definition of the connector and serves as a reference for quality assurance. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
