Overview

This part of the IEC 61300 standard series gives a framework for dependability management. It provides guidance on dependability management of products, systems, processes or services involving hardware, software and human aspects or any combinations of those elements. It provides guidance on planning and implementation of dependability activities and technical processes throughout the life cycle while also taking into account other requirements such as those relating to safety and the environment. This standard gives guidelines for management and the associated technical personnel to assist them in the optimization of dependability. The responsible committee is DKE/K 132 "Zuverlässigkeit" ("Dependability") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
