Overview

This standard deals with the safety of electric fence energizers the rated voltage of which does not exceed 250 V and with which fence energizers used in agriculture and domestic areas, wildlife protection fences and safety fences can be energized or controlled. Both electric fence energizers with mains connection and battery-operated ones are dealt with. In many countries additional requirements can be issued by health and occupational safety authorities. In contrast to DIN EN 60335-2-76 (VDE 0700-76):2011-07 and DIN EN 60335-2-76 Corrigendum 1 (VDE 0700-76 Corrigendum 1):2014-03, the requirements for battery-powered electric fence energizers have been supplemented, in particular with marking and instructions. Furthermore, the description of the construction of electric fence energizers with time delay has been revised in Annex ZAA and their test conditions specified. With regard to clearances and creepage distances the requirements from Part 1 are now adopted without changes. The responsible Subcommittee is DKE/UK 531.2 "Landwirtschaftsgeräte" ("Agricultural machinery") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
